Well let me tell you, I think this year I achieved that! Avery showered me with a poem, a painted pig she made me in art and a special gift she made in social studies. Rocco’s gift is the one I really want to share with all of you and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Let’s just say that any mom’s out there with sons will love this. Enough said, here is my gift………
It is a booklet and I am going to write everything down just like Rocco wrote it. I also will try and describe the pictures with each page. The first page says, “My mom’s name is Sandi Stallings. The pictures below have clouds that are shaped like hearts and Rocco wrote ‘love clouds’ next to them. There is a picture of Rocco and I holding hands and a shrub shaped with hearts that he labeled love boos. (Love bush)
The next page says, “She is 39 years old.” Rocco drew a birthday cake with 18 candles and wrote, “I put 18 candls because you look 18.” (God I love that kid!) On the following page it states, “My mom has butaful hair.” Rocco drew a picture of me and hearts surrounding me. He then wrote, “I love you, you love me were a happy family.”
Okay continuing on to the next page. It says, “She likes to right her blog around the house.” He drew a picture of a laptop that says, “Happy Mother’s Day.” Alright the next page goes on to say, “her favorite TV show is Bigest Loser.” He drew a picture of a person lifting dumb bells and wrote “Happynes,” with hearts all around. Okay the mushy stuff is coming……so I turn the page and the little stinker writes, ”I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you always, as long as I’m living my mommy you’ll be….” If you have a son you should definitely know where that line comes from. The book is called Love you Forever, by Robert Munsch. The freaking book makes me cry every time I read it! He continues to write, “Dear mom, you have ben so helpful to me. You have no I deer how much I love you. From Derek.” He then drew a heart with the word peace in it. This is when the tears started coming. I am so not done yet though! The next page says, “Her favorite drink is wine.” (Smart kid) I turned the page to it stating, “Her favorite thing to eat is vechtivals (vegetables).” Not true…..my favorite thing is Mexican food! Oh well at least he gets the healthy thing that I am trying to instill in him!
The following page says, ‘My mom likes to go to Floradau.” That is true! He drew so many hearts and even a heart shaped cloud with a heart shaped sun. The last page says, “My mom’s hobby is righting her blog.” You have to love the spelling! So I closed the book and noticed the back cover. It had x’s and o’s all over it with a big heart in the middle. In the middle of the heart were the words, love, peace, happyness, Budda, gondey (Gandhi) and energy…..and lastly a picture of a Buddha balancing the plates on his hands.
I will keep this forever! What amazes me is how much of my life and things I am passionate about have been engrained into this little man’s head. No offense, but men usually do not pay that much attention to a girl’s thoughts or likes. Apparently, Rocco is going to be a MAJOR CATCH! I so believe that our children may not listen to what we say, but boy do they see what we do and sometimes even during play time they reenact what our lifestyles are like.
I hope you all cherish your little men and as hard as it may be, let them go someday so they can make another girl as happy as they have made you. Never forget you will always be there number one……Peace
